2018, A Look Back (Part 2)

July - We spent tons of time in the pool! Alex and J flew to Texas to visit family. This was Alex's first time on a plane!

August - The guys went camping (I think it was in August but it may have been in the fall..)
Alex turned 8! School started! And I celebrated another birthday!

September - We got settled into our fall schedule and prepared for Hurricane Florence. Thankfully we didn't get any damage from the hurricane... just lots of rain. The Sunday that we got all the rain from Indie started getting sick, had a seizure, fell off a chair and hit her head. She was fine but we spent a few hours in the ER having tests and x-rays. In late September J celebrated a birthday!

October - My mom came to visit! Indie turned 3! We spent an afternoon in the mountains and celebrated Halloween!

November - November seemed to fly by! Mar marched in the annual Christmas parade (held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving) and we spent Thanksgiving Day with friends!

December - We had our first snow of the season! And traveled to Texas for a week to spent Christmas with family and friends!! We arrived back in North Carolina just in time to ring in the New Year!

We had an amazing 2018! It was our first full year living in North Carolina. I hope this year will be just as wonderful!!

2018, A Look Back (Part 1)

A look back at our 2018....

January - Mar and I flew to Mexico for my sister's wedding! This was Mar's first time on a plane and her first time out of the country. We had a great time and can't wait to go back to Tulum!

 Sol turned FOUR in mid-January!

and Mar turned NINE a week later!

February - We got our first pet!! A little 8 week old Beagle/terrier mix we named Eli! A couple weeks later we got our second pet, a bunny, for Mar on Valentine's Day!! Sadly, Mar turned out to be allergic to her sweet little bunny but we were able to find a perfect new home for her a few months ago.

March, April - My mom flew out for Spring Break. All three girls had their first dance recital, Alex started baseball and we celebrated Easter!

May - J was Sol's soccer coach in the spring. Mar and I ran/walked in a 5K for Girls On The Run. And we moved from our three bedroom townhouse into a 4 bedroom rent house. Most importantly our new neighborhood has a community pool. We spent HOURS at the pool all summer!

June - School was out for the summer! We traveled to Florida for our 10 year vow renewal ceremony!! Lots of family and friends met us in FL to celebrate!!

Our town's annual Christmas parade is always held the Tuesday afternoon before Christmas. Schools
let out early and it's a big deal.

life lately

We've been busy as always!! Poor Indie was sick for over two weeks. She was sick a full week before Thanksgiving before I decided to take her to the doctor (over-the-counter cold meds just don't seem to work for her).

November Day

I took these pics over a week ago when J and the older girls were still in Texas. I've been trying to take pics several days a week and I'm pretty happy with some of these. I love the photo above but I had to ask a friend of mine to edit out the boogers and goop on Indie's Grace. Poor girl was pretty sick that day!

Morning with Indie

You can tell Indie Grace doesn't feel good here, poor baby. We had to skip MOPS last Thursday morning so we stayed home and had a lazy day. (We also ate half the donuts I was going to take to MOPs ha!)

w sitting, hyper mobiltiy, special shoes & stuff

We recently discovered (or had it confirmed) that Indie Grace does have issues with her feet turning in and also the way she runs. She's hyper mobile, as many kids with hip dysplasia are, and that can effect them in many areas.

a day in the life

I thought it would be interesting to recap our busy day Tuesday.

We all had to wake up pretty early since we had a busy day ahead. By 8 a.m. I think everyone was up and awake except for Indie and I. I drug myself out of bed, stumbled downstairs to mix up my Revital U coffee and headed back upstairs to straighten my hair.

I woke Indie up around 8:15, got her dressed, made sure someone gave her a chocolate chip granola bar and quickly got myself dressed.

J's grandmother passed away suddenly over the weekend so he left for Texas on Tuesday with the two older girls.

J finished loading his car for the trip then left and took Alex to school around 8:25

I try to double check to make sure the girls had packed everything they needed but figured out later they left a few things behind... including nice dresses for the service and all their bath/shower stuff. Oops.

The girls and I left the house right after 8:30 and drove to Wal-Mart to meet J. We left his car and we all went together in the van to get his car registered before going back to Texas. We may have been a bit overdue on the whole registration thing..

We stood in a long line at the registration place but thankfully didn't have to wait too long. That place had to be 50 years old and smelled like old, stagnant cigarette smoke.

View from Blowing Rock in the mountains above Boone.

I've gotten way behind in blogging. My mom was out here the last 2 weeks of October. We didn't make it to Asheville, as planned, but we did head up to Boone one afternoon! The view up there is gorgeous but my pics don't begin to do it justice.
